Do You Know the First Signs of the Path to  Menopause?

Most of us don't! If you are 35 or older, it's worth knowing

Too many of us were surprised by changes to sleep, our bodies, our brains and our emotional reactiveness in our early 40s.

In our research we asked about expectations related to the timing of menopause-related changes. Here is what we learned:

Thinking back to when you were 30, at what age did you expect changes to start?

WHAT WE EXPECT AND REALITY  =  A MISMATCH! We want you to know what is coming and when.

THE FIRST SIGN that  hormonal patterns  are starting to change is  a shortening cycle length. You may notice your periods are coming closer together, more frequently.  They used to come every 29 days, but now it is 27 or 26 days.

To verify this,  calculate your cycle length.

HOW TO CALCULATE YOUR CYCLE LENGTH

Subtract the days between your first day of flow/ bleeding from one cycle to the next.

If I got my period on September 9th and then again on October 4th, my cycle length is 25 days.

EXAMPLE:

If over 4-6 cycles you see a trend towards shorter cycles, and you are in your late 30s, early 40s, it’s likely that hormonal patterns  are starting to change.

SO, HOW DO I KNOW IF THINGS ARE CHANGING?
