Drink More Water to Prevent Recurrent Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs)

A study was conducted to look at the effects of increased water intake in women with recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs).

The average age was 35.7 and the standard deviation was 8.4 years, so we think this is certainly important information for those of us in our 40s who get recurrent UTIs  The study found that increased water consumption reduced the recurrence of UTIs by increasing the volume of urine thereby reducing the concentration of the bacteria that cause UTIs. Yet another reason to up your water intake!
